ABSTRACT

Every person has his or her own implicit definition of personality. From early childhood, many people have already developed a schema for classifying and predicting the behavior of others: “He’s not very handsome but he does have a nice personality.” In addition, many people still link personality with charisma and view it as a quality that outstanding athletes, popular entertainers, and (occasionally) politicians have in abundance, while others must make do with less. Even psychologists usually cannot agree on a single, global definition of personality; however, most definitions of personality emphasize three major characteristics.
