ABSTRACT
The topic of consultation and collaboration encompasses knowledge of varied models and methods of consultation in psychology and education, including instructional, behavioral, mental health, and others. Each of these processes focuses on promoting collaborative decision making among school personnel, families, and others. Consultation and collaboration can occur at the individual, family, group, and systems levels. Included in this topic are practices and methods that foster communication between home, school, and community settings with sensitivity and appreciation of diverse characteristics (Figure 8.1).
