ABSTRACT

SEAT WORK, LABS, AND EXERCISES If you are a teacher, unless you teach strictly physical activities such as sports or gymnastics, you rely on textual materials to help you teach. You may design your own materials or use products produced by others. At some point you probably give questions or problems or exercises for students to complete. Few teachers look carefully at the design of materials. Most teachers assume that exercises teach what they are supposed to teach without examining what, exactly, students actually get out of them.
