ABSTRACT
A news story has always been the creation of a reporter, assembling the facts the reporter discovers into an order that tells a story. The photo always had a stronger claim to accuracy. The light through the lens burned the negative and became the print. Only dodging and burning (lightening and darkening) specific areas of the image were allowed. And that was only to produce a more accurate picture-to highlight details in the photo the eye itself would have seen.
