ABSTRACT
Before you actually pick up the sword and start "slinging steel," it best to understand the basic safety rules of blade-play. These do not change the rules established in Chapter I, they add to them. Once steel is added there are a number of new and different problems to consider. You have already explored the first in Chapter 2; selecting a sword. Now, with sword in hand, you are ready to explore the true foundation of the art, the safe handling of a stage weapon.
