ABSTRACT
I spend a good deal of time consulting at psychiatric hospitals, including Veterans Affairs hospitals. In each setting, the staff identify the most challenging or difficult client or group of clients, and they then ask me to interview the clients behind a one-way mirror. Before I see a client, a case conference is held where all members of the mental-health treatment team present relevant case material.
