ABSTRACT

Commercial studios can be found by looking in Yellow Pages. Some advertise on noticeboards in music shops and in music and show-business publications. Local branches of performers’ unions and associations may be able to make recommendations. Advertising Agencies might tell people where they record their commercials and some local radio stations hire out their commercial production facilities for evening sessions. Studios record either speech or music. Some claim to be equally expert in both areas. If people are not able to find or afford a studio which specialises in voice recording they will have to choose the most suitable music studio that they can find. Most voice agents, advertising agents and casting directors will tell people that the thing that interests them most is their natural speaking voice. They are not initially interested in how many different accents or silly voices one can do.
