ABSTRACT

Voice agents will be eager to sign them up because they are talented, and versatile, and all the happy voice artist has to do is sit back, wait for the phone to ring, and decide what to do with the large sums of money that will undoubtedly come their way. There are some good voice agents who will treat one sympathetically and they seem to be the ones who have a presence on the Internet. A couple have very interesting Websites complete with pages of information for newcomers. There is one set of circumstances in which a voice agent may well be interested in people. Most of them pride themselves on maintaining a least one ‘voice’ in all of the popular categories. They divide their categories into male and female, then into age groups, character, national accents, regional accents, and local accents. Using someone to do an impersonation sounds ‘cheap’ and is fraught with legal difficulties.
