ABSTRACT
One consequence of recent developments in the teaching and learning of history is an emphasis on the importance of key concepts in history (see Chapter 2). This chapter considers how you might set about teaching some of these concepts. It is now generally accepted that the more sophisticated your pupils’ understanding of these concepts, when related to historical content, the greater is the depth of their historical understanding.
