In his critique of global capitalism, Slavoj Žižek has oen described our current times as an epoch of unprecedented capitalist hegemony.1 is chapter focuses on a selection of premillennium and new-millennium young adult (YA) ctions against this contemporary moment of globalization and the rise of an unbridled neoliberal political economy that has seen the escalation of sectarian warfare and insurgencies, fundamentalisms, nationalisms, preemptive attacks on sovereign states, and “the global war on terror.”
