ABSTRACT
Jerry was reunited with Angela Lansbury for the original television musical, Mrs. Santa Claus. The 90-minute musical special premiered December 8, 1996, on CBS. The story of Mrs. Claus leaving the North Pole to discover the world at large and, in doing so, finds a new self-respect for her own identity might have been the usual holiday bonbon. But Jerry Herman and book writer Mark Saltzman slip in subtle messages about women's equality and the need for different cultures to coexist peacefully.
