ABSTRACT
The particular weakness of Christianity in this critical situation lies in an early division of its spirit. I want to elucidate this “division of Christian Spirit” with reference to the debate about the so-called Hellenization of Christianity, a debate dating as far back as the Renaissance but of interest in the present context in its most recent incarnation.
