ABSTRACT

Snakes, spiders, eels in the ocean, or things that go bump in the night-it is safe to say that most normal, healthy people are fearful of something.

Many of our fears have a survival element in them. Fears of things like heights, snakes, and burning buildings are fears of things that could actually threaten our existence. There is little reason to remove such fears unless you are a highrise construction worker, a herpetologist, or a firefighter. Only when a fear or phobia interferes with your daily life need it be a concern.
