ABSTRACT
Children in kindergarten know that when summer comes school will come to an end. College students know that on completing their senior year and earning all their credits, they'll get a degree. Clearly delineated time periods and accomplishments define the progression and the end-point. Not so with psychoanalysis. The time it takes is highly variable, and there are no easy-to-define accomplishments like passing courses.
