Introduction

Stories as Sources of Information Our premise here is that stories of technology use, drawn directly from indi-

vidual accounts across a variety of professions, will inform readers about ICT use and how they might make decisions in similar circumstances. We use the story as the device for conveying what we have learned from our interviews because the individual accounts not only contain a compelling human-interest quotient, but

provide readers with different opportunities for learning from different parts of a story. Depending on their own level of knowledge and interests, some readers will identify with one theme in the story, others with a different theme in the same story.
