ABSTRACT
The motives for ranking environmental problems by relative risk, the processes used to rank environmental problems by relative risk, and the social, political, economic, spiritual, and environmental consequences of ranking environmental problems by relative risk are unacceptable to me as both a citizen and an expert who knows we can, should, and must do better. I offer the following alternatives.
