ABSTRACT
In previous chapters, I discussed changes that happened in China at the economic, political, legal, and social levels in the reform era and further extended China’s domestic reforms into the global system. In this chapter, I focus on China’s current court system based on my field research. Even though my empirical observations were conducted at the micro level, all major changes described previously at the macro level are reflected in the judicial system.
