ABSTRACT

Kwame Nkrumah, the single most important African philosopher of state of the 20th century, declared that:

The 21st century is an era characterized by the relatively recent nationstate liberation movement from colonialism juxtaposed with neo-colonial retrogression. For the Africans domiciled outside of Africa the recent experience has been one of rising African consciousness and nationalism

juxtaposed to reactionary backlashes of neo-enslavement in the social environments in which they find themselves. The protracted battle of Africans fighting to regain their personal and collective agency is registered in these ups and downs.
