Assuming That a First-year Student Who Outwardly Seems to Have It All Together Doesn't Need Any Help or Support

Hi. My name is Bob. Last year was my first year as an RA. I attend Large State University (LSU)-a school of about 40,000 students in the Midwest. LSU is a school in a big college town with lots to do. You can major in just about anything at LSU and there are 400 student organizations to choose from-never a lack of options. Lots of people really like it here. Occasionally, someone slips through the cracks though. That's what happened to one of my residents last year, Dan. It caught me totally offguard. I hope that by hearing this story, you'll be better prepared so it doesn't happen with one ofyour residents.
