ABSTRACT
Hi! My name is Elizabeth. This is my third year as an RA at Rural Mountain University. Here at RMU we have a strong campus community, mostly because there really isn't much to do nearby and we are in the middle of nowhere! Or so it seems anyway, but we make the most of it. We have a strong Greek system, numerous student organizations, and most everyone lives on campus. My first year on staffwas a tough transition for me to make. I had a hall of first-year women, 50 of them. Can you believe it? Wow, that was a lot. Not only did I have a large number of residents, especially for an RA with first-year women only, I also got off to a bad start with them. I hope by hearing my story, you'll learn some lessons from my mistakes so that you don't fall into the same trap that I did.
