ABSTRACT

Today’s terrorists have the full battery of modern weaponry at their disposal, from surface-to-air missiles to chemicals, as well as more traditional bombs and mortars. There’s even the horrific specter of a nuclear weapon getting into the hands of terrorists. But first, any terrorist group needs some kind of structure so that their campaigns run efficiently – just like a legal political party. They have to plan whether they are going to plant bombs, carry out hijackings and kidnappings, or assassinate a prominent figure, or whether to use a combination of methods. Whatever tactics they use, they need to raise funds to finance their operations.
