ABSTRACT
Sound is our artistic medium. As sound engineers, we create sonic artwork from it. The more we understand sound, the more we can predict its behavior, and more easily produce better recordings. Even if you think you know the basics, there might be something in this chapter that will dramatically change the way you think about sound, use your equipment, or hear what you’re listening to – improving the audio you record and mix.
