ABSTRACT
The costs and benefits of designs for built facilities follow similar lines to those discussed earlier for settlement structure (Chapter 9). Factors of internal layout, appearance and location affect the developer, occupiers and other direct users, while both location and appearance, and the facility’s generation of traffic, pollution and the demand for public services affect the public authorities and the community.
