ABSTRACT
According to statistics from the U.S. Department of Education (National Center for Education Statistics, 2005), almost 50 million children and adolescents attend public elementary and secondary schools in the United States, with an average daily attendance of over 44 million students. Even without considering the additional numbers enrolled in private educational programs, it is clear that schools are an ideal access point for provision of a broad range of services for the school-age population.
