ABSTRACT

In recent years, the ideas of Alfred Adler have been receiving considerable attention. This rebirth is characterized by an increasing number of Adlerian practitioners, counseling centers, educational offerings, and publications. The Adlerian framework for understanding individuals and corresponding Adlerian counseling techniques can contribute to the effectiveness of the school psychologist. First, discussion will be directed to assumptions regarding the nature of man. Then, the techniques having a direct bearing on the work of the school psychologist will be presented: the Adlerian lifestyle approach and Adlerian counseling approach with children.
