ABSTRACT

Active immunization involves stimulating the body to produce its own antibodies. This can be achieved by injecting live microorganisms (that have been treated in such a way as to make them harmless), dead microorganisms or the toxins pro­ duced by microorganisms. Active immunization is often referred to as vaccination.
