ABSTRACT

Skill coaching, also referred to as skill-focused coaching, is typically what most individuals associate with the term coaching.Actually, executive coaching has three different varieties or types: Skill-focused, performance-focused, and developmentfocused. Because types suggests specialized areas of coaching, it may be more accurate to think of each form of coaching as a function rather than as a type or area of specialization. The reality is that in most executive coaching situations, two or all three of these coaching functions are likely to be involved.
