ABSTRACT
Renaissance is literally a rebirth-a rebirth of classical art, architecture, technology, and, generally, classical modes of literary, philosophical, and scientific thought. It was the age of Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler and Newton, Bacon and Descartes, Dante, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Shakespeare. But the Renaissance built on established classical knowledge, developing new modes, techniques, perspectives, and imagination of its own; and, in some cases, advancing a rigorously scientific, and sometimes rationalist, approach to knowledge in general.
