ABSTRACT
Liszt was at least as great a composer for orchestra as for the piano; in addition, he also produced a small but interesting body of works for chamber ensembles. Studies of his “original” orchestral and other ensemble works are described below; studies of his orchestral arrangements and transcriptions are described in Chapter 11.
