ABSTRACT

McDonald’s Corporation, operator of the world’s largest fastfood chain, has a presence in more than 100 countries. Eighty-five percent of McDonald’s 20,000 restaurants around the world are operated by nearly 4,500 franchises and affiliates. From its beginning, McDonald’s has had an aggressive marketing philosophy, and the company boasts that its ads have been among the most identifiable over the years. In addition, McDonald’s has put a major emphasis on philanthropic work, mainly through the McDonald Charities, including the Ronald McDonald Houses.
