Founded as the Geyer Company in Dayton, Ohio, 1911; bought the Paul L. Cornell Company, New York City, 1933; changed name to Geyer, Cornell & Newell, Inc., with the addition of partner H.W. “Hike” Newell, 1935; renamed Geyer, Newell & Ganger, with promotion of Robert Ganger to vice president, 1945; name changed to Geyer Advertising when Newell left, 1952; merged with Morey, Humm & Warwick, becoming Geyer, Morey, Madden & Ballard, Inc., to reflect President Sam Ballard and new Vice Chairman Edward Madden, 1959; renamed Geyer, Morey, Ballard, Inc., when Madden left, 1962; renamed GeyerOswald, 1967; absorbed by Lennen & Newell, 1970.
