ABSTRACT
James Homer Garrott was born on June 19, 1897, in Montgomery, Alabama. His parents were James Henry Garrott and Fanny Walker Garrott. His father was a builder and helped to erect buildings on the campus of TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE including the chapel designed by ROBERT ROBINSON TAYLOR. His mother was remembered as being artistic and musical.
