ABSTRACT
We were furious about the session they required us to attend before being allowed to do the amnio. These silly people made us pay $140 for a two-hour session, and it took us over forty-five minutes to get there and the same to get back. They explained, in the most elementary language, as if we were total idiots, a few basic things about amnio—information that we could easily have digested from a short pamphlet in ten minutes…. It was the clearest case of a for-profit bilking in the American medical system! … They could devise … a short test to be taken at home to prove that we understood. Then they'd have no excuse to spend so much of our time on so little information.
