ABSTRACT
In order to improve teaching and learning, we study language-in-use in classrooms and in teacher learning communities. In the give and take of ordinary conversations, it can be difficult to remember who said what to whom. By freezing interactions through transcripts, we can read and reread to form interpretations of events and meanings.
