ABSTRACT
I have gone over the details of this case again and again, and each time I come up with a dierent conclusion. I have been back and forth so many times I get a headache thinking about it. Sometimes I think it just had to be true, most of it anyway. I reassure myself that I just could not be fooled so thoroughly, over such a long period of time, that surely I would have caught Jacob contradicting himself. But then I replay some of our conversations and recall the sketchy plot that Jacob supplied about a particular incident and realize that I was the one who lled in the details based on my diligent research. So maybe I wrote this story aer all based on Jacob’s rough outline of an idea.
