A Preliminary Investigation of the Economics of Migratory Waterfowl

Hunting and fishing are major forms of recreation in the United States. Of the 148 million persons in the country 12 years old or older in 1965, approximately 22 percent fished and/or hunted for three days or more during the year. About 9 percent engaged in hunting, and one percent specifically engaged in the hunting of waterfowl. ¹
