ABSTRACT

WITH THE DEFINITION of the Human Capital Plan in place, we turn our sights to the process of recruiting and selecting highly talented individuals. As was highlighted in Chapter 1, the pool of potential managers gets drier every year. In the near future, many companies stand to face a serious managerial crisis. The solution to this common predicament may seem obvious (the company in crisis must recruit more talented people than the competition), but a strategy is required beyond simply saying, “We need to recruit more talented people.” The senior management team must implement a process not only to attract the most talented individuals in their field, but also to retain them, as well.
