ABSTRACT
In Chapter 8, light was described as either a form of energy radiated as a wave motion (according to Maxwell’s theory), or as a large number of travelling wavelets or photons (according to Einstein’s quantum theory). Leaving aside the finer academic points of propagation, we now must look at the way in which light waves vibrate during propagation.
