ABSTRACT

Before we examine the characteristics of unsuccessful teams a few words might be said about the problem of carrying out this particular investigation. Losing teams create more embarrassment for their members than winning teams; and the difficulties were greater in the EME than in Teamopoly. The latter exercise offered the advantage of being under our own control and we were aided by the fact that the participants had come to learn about team-building and nothing more. The strain of failing can be endured provided it does not last too long.
