ABSTRACT
The importance of control and quality of software has only recently been recognised by industry. Some 30 years ago only the major organisations utilised either large, powerful (by their standards) mainframe digital computers or analogue computers. Nowadays advanced machines of enormous capacity and speed are everyday tools.
