ABSTRACT
In the 1980s Hitachi Limited, Japan’s fifth largest industrial enterprise was indicted by a San Jose, California grand jury on a charge of “conspiring to transport property from the United States to Japan.” The property was confidential IBM computer information on models 3053, 3081, 3380, and 3880.
