ABSTRACT

February 1997. A year has passed since I was asked by the management to look into the issue of information. During that year, a movement of knowledge sharing not only has been launched across the organization, but has now been accepted as a key strategy for the organizations future. The president has announced the organization's commitment in the most public and irreversible way at the annual meeting of our organization. The idea is incorporated into a strategy document to be approved by the board of directors. Organizational arrangements are being made for implementation. A program director is appointed. Objectives are being set. Operations are being launched. Budgets are being discussed. Knowledge sharing has thus been formally espoused by the organization. The game plan for managing knowledge is official.
