ABSTRACT

Unlike consumer buying behaviour (cf. Briefs 6 and 42), often several individuals or departments are involved in making the purchase decision. For example, selling chemicals into a manufacturer may involve the manufacturer’s production manager, technical department, purchasing manager, financial controller and even Board members. To be successful, the supplying producer of chemicals must develop marketing programmes to appeal to all of these parties.
