Field of Operations of the British South Africa Company. The Royal Charter granted to the British South Africa Company
on the 29th October, 1889, given on p. 271 (No. 34}, defined the field of operations of the Company as "the region of South Africa lying immediately to the north of British Bechuanaland, and to the north and west of the South African Republic, and to the west of the Portuguese Dominions."
