ABSTRACT

The examiners, when looking at answers to examination questions based on the case study,

look for:

Analytical and critical thinking The case study is based on real organizations and we expect candidates to critically analyse it

utilizing a range of techniques. The case study is sent to students four weeks before the date of

the examination. As this is a closed book examination and we are looking for pre-prepared

analyses, it is important that the weeks before the examination, time is spent on understanding

and analysing the case. The purpose of a case is to develop the following:

o Analysis and critical thinking o Decision-making o Judging between courses of action o Handling assumptions and inferences o Presenting a point of view o Listening to and understanding others o Relating theory to practice.
