ABSTRACT
The examiners, when looking at answers to examination questions based on the case study,
look for:
Analytical and critical thinking The case study is based on real organizations and we expect candidates to critically analyse it
utilizing a range of techniques. The case study is sent to students four weeks before the date of
the examination. As this is a closed book examination and we are looking for pre-prepared
analyses, it is important that the weeks before the examination, time is spent on understanding
and analysing the case. The purpose of a case is to develop the following:
o Analysis and critical thinking o Decision-making o Judging between courses of action o Handling assumptions and inferences o Presenting a point of view o Listening to and understanding others o Relating theory to practice.
