ABSTRACT
USER INTERFACES In the field of information technology, a user interface is any system that supports human-machine interaction (HMI) or human-computer interaction (HCI). This chapter adopts this broad definition of user interfaces to include almost all information devices that a human being can interact with. The interface has both hardware and software components and exists in the forms of both input and output. The input component allows users to control the system, whereas the output component enables the system to show the results of user control.
