ABSTRACT
Play-by-play looks a lot like anchoring, but it is actuallymuchdifferent. In general, anchoring involves reading short segments of prepared material. Play-by-play is much longer and also has more of a live element. Although much more preparation usually goes into play-by-play, the actual presentation is spontaneous and unscripted.
