ABSTRACT

Those who do graduate must compete with the thousands of other people already in the business, but looking to move on to a new situation. Unfortunately, the “demand” for such talent can never keep up with supply. Sports media positions, even in the smallest and poorest areas in the country, are rare and highly coveted. The growth of the Internet, cable, and other alternative outlets has eased the situation somewhat by creating more positions. But the fact remains that getting a job in sports media remains a difficult and frustrating endeavor.
