ABSTRACT

We have discussed the constantly blurring lines between marketer, strategist, writer, designer, and developer in nearly every chapter of this book. It is in the actual hands-on development of marketing-driven web applications where lines between the aforementioned roles become more readily apparent. Many of the tools and techniques discussed in this book can be implemented by someone with a little drive and a modicum of technical knowledge or interactive design skills. Blogs, content management systems, and tools that let you easily share content across multiple social networks have made most marketers and content creators perfectly comfortable with writing basic HTML and CSS as a natural extension of their daily work tasks. Few, however, are likely writing their own web apps.
