ABSTRACT
Characteristics of IPTV IPTV is primarily used to offer services that duplicate or exceed the features and functions of a CATV or direct broadcast satellite system by means of an IP network. Service providers who wish to deliver multiple consumer services over a single network often choose IP technology because it can provide voice and high-speed data access in addition to IPTV on a single platform. In a typical system, a private, high-speed IP network is used to continuously deliver video programming to hundreds or thousands of viewers simultaneously.
